"SNIP.......

Neil Young’s music is in the process of being removed from Spotify’s streaming service, as the folk-rock star isn’t wavering in his objections to Joe Rogan’s podcast and how it spreads misinformation about Covid-19, the Wall Street Journal reports.

I think my grandkids do, and I plan to have a conversation with them about it now. I applaud Neil Young for the stand he's taking. And frankly, I think Spotify has made a very stupid choice. One that should be shouted roundly thru the social media sphere!

Stupid in the sense that Joe Rogan is stupid and dangerous and doesn't deserve the platform he has.

From a business perspective, it's a no-brainer. Rogan brings way more money to Spotify than Young could ever hope to. They probably won't even notice his absence. The man has no leverage.

That's nice. I wonder how much money Spotify is prepared to lose by siding with Joe "Stinkbutt" Rogan? I have no similar concerns for Neil Young, whose career arc won't even notice this.

Honestly, I am not sure anyone noticed. He came back after a while. I am sure after six months or a year he will want people to listen to his music again. Just like before.

Unlike several other music streaming services Spotify does not offer lossless files. If I am going to pay for ad free music at the very least it should be the best quality.
