You know, there was a time when IF a member of Congress had had the sheer audacity

to publicly take credit for bringing federal funds back to his or her district or state and then people found out they had opposed the funding bill and voted against it, constituents would have all had pretty much the same response: "I'll never vote for that lying sonofabitch again!"

Lookin' at you, Senator "Florida Man" Scott and you, Florida voters.

Or build something into the bill to reduce the allotment by some percentage if a Congress person or Senator votes against it. Otherwise it's a heads I win, tails you loose situation.
