Can be undone by the next President.

Doing it through legislation is much better... case in point the Affordable Care Act.

With the mid-terms approaching I'm sure there are things he can do to make voters' lives better. Which could help Dem chances in the election.

mandate worked...it seems to me that a deal should be struck by both the House and the Senate...get what you can. AOC is smart and all but, she needs to work on legislation and not just advise Biden on what 'he should do'.

It's harder to run on unpassed or even unpassable legislation. EOs make clear the Democratic agenda in a way that is undeniable. DACA, for example, likely sealed the deal for Obama.

while you can. Things that can have an immediate impact on voters' lives. And you can get media coverage. Even trump knew that as he'd hold those news conferences with him signing an EO then holding it up to the camera showing that unreadable scrawl of a signature of his.

I wish AOC, Warren, et. al would stop suggesting that Biden do things that he actually doesn't have the power to do. Some less-informed people have already got the impression that Biden can do a bunch of things he can't actually do- but is just refusing to because.........for reasons. TYT and Cenk thrive on being able to vent about Biden being a corporate shill. AOC and Warren should know better IMHO.

then we could pass the Bills with the votes that are needed.

And to all those saying AOC should shut up, I don't know what to think about your statements. AOC has a lot of inside knowledge about the House than we do.

Keep preaching AOC, WE need your voice.

… the next GOP president? Because that is the hazard of E.O.s — they exist only while their signer is still in office.

I direct your attention to the Global Gag Rule, a cherished artifact of anti-abortion Republicans.

America sends money abroad for health care, women’s clinics, and the like. But by law — our laws — the US will not and can not pay a cent for abortions to be performed in them.

But the Global Gag Rule forbids anyone who works in these NGOs to counsel, recommend, or even refer a patient to someone who will help them. Even in a war zone where women are being raped as a tool of war.

It’s been a political football. I remember George W. Bush re-instated it on his first day in office. I almost drove off the freeway I was so outraged. I know better now. Trump also re-instated it, probably with embellishments. I’m sure Biden has once again overturned it, but quietly. Be assured, tho, that as soon as the next GOPer is president, it will once again rear its ugly head.

Until we get enough Dems in Congress to get rid of it once and for all. (Yeah right, good luck with that, given the SCOTUS we are now stuck with. )

Sorry for the digression, but E.O.s are a pet peeve of mine.

https://www.plannedparenthoodaction.org/communities/planned-parenthood-global/end-global-gag-rule
The global gag rule (also known as the Mexico City policy) is a dangerous anti-abortion policy that risks the health and lives of women and girls around the world.

The global gag rule prevents foreign organizations receiving U.S. global health assistance from providing information, referrals, or services for legal abortion or advocating for access to abortion services in their country — even with their own money.

Until we end the global gag rule, the policy will continue to jeopardize the health and well-being of millions of women and girls and the families that depend on them.

The global gag rule was first introduced by President Ronald Reagan in 1984. On January 23, 2017, in one of his first acts as president, President Donald Trump reinstated and expanded the global gag rule. As it stands currently, the rule targets international organizations that work on any programs funded by U.S. global health assistance — including programs to expand access to contraception, prevent and treat HIV/AIDS, combat malaria, and improve maternal and child health.

voters lives before the mid-terms since our two recalcitrant senators chose to torpedo BBB and voting rights.

And incidentally, EOs that have immediate impact, and get good media coverage (Jen Psaki's briefings included), could have a positive impact on our mid-term prospects.

Think positively of what they can do now. That's the reason for this thread. Any good ideas?
