But to have her name floated and to have Clarence (and his vile wife) see the media go nuts and replay the whole Anita Hill testimony news story again . . . ! Might just put him over the edge.

I think Sotomayor and Kagan should come to work every day with a bottle of coca cola - just to let him know they are onto him.

with. Nominated to the bench by the man who grilled her in a public hearing and then forced to sit next to her harasser? Christ.

I also don't remember her being seated next to Clarence Thomas.

It was long ago, though, so perhaps I've forgotten. Do you have a link?

her, famously asking her, among other things, what was the "most embarrassing" thing Thomas ever did to her.

And no, she wasn't seated next to Thomas. My comment was referencing where she might have to sit, were she to be seated on the Supreme Court.

who is not nearly as qualified as the excellent sitting judges who are said to be on Biden's short list. He will nominate the person who is best able to perform the duties of a Supreme Court justice, not someone selected only for the purpose of pissing off someone else.

What a dumb idea.

Stop with all these stunt suggestions for the supreme court.

Not just you, but everyone suggesting her, or Merrick Garland, or Barack/Michelle Obama.

Just stop.

presidential/vice presidential nominees, cabinet positions, whatever - inevitably there are posts suggesting the latest shiny-object liberal celebrity or some famous, well-liked but completely unqualified person, like Oprah or, insanely, recently-disbarred shyster Michael Avenatti (just because he sued TFG and flapped his gums all over MSNBC, which should have known better). While I am nnot privy to such decisions, I can pretty much guarantee that Biden will not nominate Anita Hill, Hillary Clinton, either of the Obamas, Oprah, AOC, Elizabeth Warren, Whoopi Goldberg, or any of the other famous people who are not sitting federal judges. He will especially not nominate someone because it would piss off someone else.

A Supreme Court seat is too important to fool around with. I certain President Biden will nominate someone of superior ability for Justice Breyer’s seat.
