don't want to be left out of any red meat event. The good news is that these numbskulls are forcing the Conservative Party to feed them red meat and lie so obviously that it pisses off the rest of the country. A friend was driving south of Ottawa today and overpasses were lined with the true believers in acting out. This wedge issue between the right wing fringe and other potential centre voters is all Trump/libertarian created and it is destroying the Conservatives. 10% of big rig drivers are not vaxxed. The truckers trade association is not for this convoy. Plus the vaxxine requirement just reflects American rules. If there is violence then it will just rift the Conservatives further. That being said police will be everywhere on Saturday to make sure no lone wolves get violent. Leadership of the convoy itself has just denounced any and all violence. Anyhow you can see influence of US politics in this with that Confederate flag.. FYI.

However you are correct in stating that US politics has an (big?) influence here, especially amongst the dimmer members of the citizenry.

I should also add that this effort has attracted a number of hangers-on trying to horn in on the publicity. I expect the confederate flag falls into that category.

The protest is however ultimately futile as, even if the Govt relents on the trucker/boarder crossing vaccine mandate, the US still has theirs in place.

12. I have been having fun with these idiot's supporters on FB

over the past few days. JFC, I thought Canadians were smarter but we sure do have some dumb asses. They do not understand the x-border vaccination requirements. I have a friend who owns a trucking company in BC and he is disgusted by this so called protest. They do not even understand that truckers who do domestic runs are not required, by the government, to be vaccinated. They keep saying stupid shit like there is 50,000 trucks. There was 113 trucks along with 276 other vehicles from the west that passed through Thunder Bay area. Some idiot tried to tell me he saw over 1,000 trucks going through Calgary, I live there and we had no such thing. They caught the republican bug to lie about everything.
