On the day after...did anyone in power, political or media, demand Trumps Resignation?

Last edited Sun Feb 6, 2022, 11:20 AM - Edit history (1)

AND the resignation of Pence… Acting President Pelosi taking the Office until the Constitutional mandated Inauguration Day?

Seems to me the nation was united in horror, even Republicans, at the obvious coup attempt just witnesses. Lost the chance right there.

The chief insurrectionists and their cronies remained in power??

To my mind that was the pivotal day, the crux in time…but when no one demanded the obvious, the immediate resignation of the main planner and benefactor a unsuccessful and violent destruction of democracy?

What does it take to move a nation and it’s mass media to shame?

If it was a Democrat as Commander in Chief…then the airwaves would have been overflowing…to remove the persons in power…immediately.

Now look where the country is a year later…divided as ever because in the immediate aftermath….the planners and the lawyers doing the planning felt they all got away with it.

Mind exercise…Imagine if it was President Obama shouting out orders to storm the Capitol, and VP Biden being hung in effigy outside, etc., while inside parliamentarians fled from death.

The mind boggles at how things would have been so different.

Like night and day…or more accurately, black and white.

…..

Edit…no intention that Democrats feel any shame…apologies if misunderstood, the nation as a whole not doing as a whole what should have been done …other than a long winded impeachment doomed from get go and acting as a distraction.

So I think it's fair to say that our Congressional leadership jumped right on it.

The press is still having a hard time spitting out words that might offend MAGA.

1. We The People elected Joe Biden as President in a mostly free and fair election.
There's no shame in that. There is a vocal and destructive Fascist minority in this
country that doesn't know what shame is but they will recognize a prison cell when they see themselves in it.

2. Much of the U.S. and world mass media are useless tools of Far Right Fascists.
They're doing exactly what they're paid to do which is not to do anything except ask why
we Democrats don't feel ashamed. These tool fools feel no personal shame at all and
accept no personal responsibility. Asking them to do so is a waste of breath.

Yes, things could have been much different but I don't see doom and gloom. My mind
boggles at how we let things get so out of hand but we are doing the best we can
under very trying circumstances.

removing the viper with a unified demand for resignation.

The shame belongs squarely and solely on every single other person and entity with any kind of political power.
