If the truck tractors and trailers are just O-Os (owner operated), don't those owners have enormous financial and legal exposure? And if those are fleet tractors and/or trailers, don't the fleet owners have even more financial/legal exposure?
Makes me me wonder if the whole thing isn't a massive astroturf operation.

(118,600 posts)in the future, not to mention Canadian manufacturing jobs, by making Canada a less secure place to invest. Hundreds if millions of dollars a day of car parts go both ways across that border ever day. It will hurt investment in manufacturing in Canada. People are already laid off. It is just stupid for the future of cross border trucking.

(488 posts)people lose so much money over this bs. My son turned 30 couple days ago. He will not get vaccinated. He's single, has a decent job, seems to be very smart. But, he refuses to get this vaccine. And, he's not political, as far as I can tell. I just don't get it.

Today it's vaccinations. Tomorrow, it will be a different issue.
I'm uncertain that they'll go away.

(4,871 posts)The whole op is funded by dark money, and involves shadowy extremists involved in separatist movement in Canada, and the Yellow Jackets in France.

There is another group that is taking names and license plates of all the trucks involved and contacting the companies. Some of them are getting fired and some getting dropped by their insurance.
I wonder if someone contracted the truckers to do this.

(5,164 posts)They are being funded by conservatives in the US. The vast majority, maybe 80%, of truckers there are vaxed and do not oppose the mandates. 80% of the over all population is fully vaxed.

One thing I do not quite understand is if the 10% unvaccinated can't truck across the border, why not just do all Canada routes? One other reason to think that there is much more to this than simple vaccine resistance.

(5,164 posts)but surely they could get jobs inside the country easily. Yes it appears there is more to this event. I am not sure why they have not been removed already. My brother said a lawsuit stopped them from blowing the horns.
