After all this info coming out about the boxes Trump took off with

and now we found it took 8 months and a threat to get at least 15 of those boxes back to NARA (and I'm still a bit confused as to whether or not that's all of them), it's gotten me to stewing all evening on something. If Trump was so concerned that he tried to EAT the evidence, WHAT in the world is he trying to hide from us that we don't already know?

It can't be covid-related. Nothing he did there would be a knock-out surprise. We already know he knew from the start how deadly this disease was. He admitted it to Carl - warned him about it. We know he didn't do anything about it in the beginning because it hit the "blue" states and he was hoping it would just kill all his blue state enemies. We know about the purloined equipment, the vaccines going to his rich friends, the investments into the vaccine companies, etc., etc. We know he spent one whole year (election year) screaming about a stolen election, prior to the election even being held, instead of working on Covid. So, I can't see there'd be anything else there that would be horrifying as to provoke a terrified behavior from *rump.

The only thing I keep coming back to is something he's done with a foreign leader...like Un or Orban or Putin. Maybe he actually sold them one of our states, or a monument or two, to pay off a debt? We already know he let a killer waltz in and murder an American citizen reporter. What could be more shocking than that?

Remember, someone (and my dwindling memory cells won't recall who) told us when the truth came out about Trump we'd be knocked down shocked. I keep remembering that, as well.

Who knows... remember how concentrated they were on the Dominion voting machines. Meanwhile, they let the EPIS machines skate by without a word, while we know they had proven problems from years ago. Maybe THEY actually rigged the election to THEIR benefit, but we so overwhelmed them with votes, not even those voting machines could keep up? Maybe that's why they're so adamant on voter fraud. Since they never make an accusation that they've not already done themselves...!

I'm not trying to start a conspiracy or anything... but does anyone else have this same itchiness inside about what else they're gonna find? And whether or not we'll be told? To paraphrase Jamie Raskin (since I can't remember it exactly) there has to be a reckoning for accountability's sake.

Anybody else thinking there's something much bigger out there to discover? Or is Trump just so demented that everything he does looks like a conspiracy?

Seriously, it's very frightening.

I do believe the 2016 election was rigged for him. And so do some election security experts.

The question. Did he take documents that he means to sell to profit himself? Or did he take documents that could prove his crimes.

documents that he means to sell to profit himself

That would explain the Sharpie map. It would be a big seller because it resulted in such a media frenzy.

Melania’s hat sale was just a trial balloon to gauge the market price.

The dictator love letters could be especially damning.

I think every document, Kim Jong-Un "love letter", the Sharpie weather map and any piece of paper the orange cretin didn't shred, flush, or eat was going on display at his "presidential" library...and because he is a narcissistic money hungry conman, he intended charging patrons (be they foreign or domestic) big bucks for the privilege of scanning top secret documents..

but letters containing threats, boasts, and a continuation of the kind of "rocket man" nonsense Trump started? Could that have been one of the reasons for N.K.'s concerted efforts to produce a nuclear device that could hit the U.S.? What if it all could be traced back to the nonsense Trump started and continued via the media to Kim?

Yes, I know he could still get away w it all, but much of me still believes something will come down on him.

I've actually not heard the security experts who've said it was rigged for him! ( Duh, me? Oh, wait, I wasn't on DU yet.
Nor did I hear anything on my Public Radio station's local political show [vs NPR] - perhaps I missed it.)

There were too many "top secret" meetings with Russian officials that Trump never let the U.S. media report on, or even witness. No transcripts of meetings being taken, let alone any kind of recap being released. But the Helsinki meeting, in particular, was very telling that something was much amiss due to just Trump's demeanor and pallid (rather than normal orange) coloring... like all color had drained from him.

Thing with Trump, tho... is that kind of response is likely to be more due to something Putin said about withholding money from Trump or broadcasting T's true financial situation than anything to do with our country. Let's face it, T* just doesn't give a crap about the country.

From the start. All this info coming out now is simply validating my suspicions from early on and those from last year.

When his peeps were so bold as to go out into public and boast about tearing down the institutions, I was sure that we were in for a wrecking ball event and that they would do everything possible to trash the country from one end to the other and everything in between.

I recall telling people that when this is all over, we will see that a good third of the elected officials in DC will be involved, not just in the ratfucking of the government but ratfucking of the government in service to other, international, criminal enterprises.

Yep, it's worse than it looks and it will take some time to clean up. We must persevere or we lose it all.

I expect there is much more and much worse than many could imagine, and heads better roll for it.

You have no idea the many times I've had to sit and listen to all the many things I was told I could and couldn't do, when and where and while, meanwhile Trump walked all over the rules and he and his entire administration got away with it like it was nothing. Things I'd been fired on the spot for.

At 66 y.o. now, it almost makes me want to go out and commit a crime. And when I get caught, I *want* to throw a full blow hissy fit and scream, but you let Trump get away with it? Are you truly telling me and everyone else... OUT LOUD... there are two judicial systems in the United States? Or do you want to keep that part of it quiet?

There HAS to be a reckoning. Because I don't think I'm the only one who has lived my entire life by society's norms. Did I do it only because I was scared not to do so? Of course not. If you want to live in a civilized world, you sign society's contract, and you act civilized. Besides, for the most part, I think I'm a nice person. At least, my friends think so.

But just like people are fed up to *here* with black people being killed by the cops and others for no reason except for existing while black, people are done being silent about the two-track system of justice that exists in this country. If Trump truly gets away with everything I fear there -is- going to be an uprising... and it ain't gonna be whistling "Dixie."

Shredded document salad:
first, rinse shreds in cool water to clean a bit of ink off and soften them slightly.
Be careful to maintain crispness, soggy won't be good.
Mix in your choice of chopped nuts, quarter cup per bowl.
Add cofefe to taste.
Some prefer some chopped bacon of sliced chicken.
A splash of dressing to ease the passing and you're set.
(guaranteed not to clog the toilet)

I've had a feeling that with Trump, there is always something bigger and worse waiting in the wings. I believe his crimes will be uncovered for decades to come and yes as they are uncovered, we will be shocked - "I knew it was bad, but I didn't think it was THAT bad."

I don't think there is much of anything that Trump wouldn't do for power, something he has made very clear from the beginning.

So watch out for those falling shoes, there will be more to come.

that makes me the most tired. I'm like "tell me something I don't know." I want the man behind bars. How could any veteran... for that matter, how could anyone who had a loved one who fought in WWII... believe in, love, hell... WORSHIP this fascist? My father was a Republican. (Actually, I think he was a blue dog democrat but wouldn't admit it.) I was raised with guns of all kinds in the house. I qualified expert marksman before I was 16. The NRA *used* to sponsor training and safety classes. One of them had kids from all across the U.S. competing for Sharpshooter. One year, I even won.

But the propaganda got to Dad... that, and what he'd seen overseas of people who'd been disarmed with no way to protect themselves when the Germans came marching through (at least, that was one of the reasons he gave me). He rarely talked about the war; I only know something made an enormous impact on him, and it was a fear the later version of the NRA and Repug party knew how to exploit. I never forgave them for that. My dad hated every damned Republican he voted for! Every person he admired was a Democrat! And most of those were women! He held Shirley Chisholm up as a heroine to me. He was a dreamer who'd give anyone who needed it the shirt off his back, even if it was the only one he had. He fed everyone and everything... all the animals knew to come to our house no matter what the season. And there was never a stray he didn't love on.

What strange evil do the Repugs possess that they can turn people like my dad into voters for them against us... people who, for all intents and purposes, are of like minds and hearts? That's a question I'd like answered before I die. Hubby says we might have it once we discover the way Trump got all these idiots to follow him. I dunno... I think they're all domestic terrorists and they all deserve to be in Guantanamo as enemies of the State. YMMV.

When I think of all the times I tried to fathom how on earth all those Germans went along with Hitler and the Nazis, it seemed inconceivable to me until now. Apparently there are times in history when people can be persuaded in large numbers to abandon all their principles to follow one person and/or party. It is like mass hypnosis and it is terrifying, especially when you see it happen to people you know.
