If they don't show up for the depositions they can be held in contempt, but that doesn't mean they can put a lien on their properties.

10. Is it a different standard if you are subpoenaed to a deposition then subpoenaed to court ...

11. Nope. Either situation can lead to a contempt of court order.

The actual penalty for contempt would depend on the jurisdiction and the rules of that particular court.
