Last edited Fri Feb 25, 2022, 10:30 AM - Edit history (1)

Guy should know…

Here's how to checkmate Putin - chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov

1. Support Ukraine militarily,
2. Bankrupt Putin's war machine,
3. Freeze & seize Russia's finances,
4. Kick Russia out of every financial institution.

Excerpt…

"Support Ukraine militarily, immediately, everything but boots on the ground. All weapons, intel, cyber. Bankrupt Putin's war machine. Freeze & seize Russia's finances & those of him and his gang. Kick Russia out of every intl & financial institution. PACE, Interpol, etc.," he continued.

He added that the international community should “Recall all ambassadors from Russia. There is no point in talking. The new unified message is ‘stop or be isolated completely.’ -Ban all elements of Putin's global propaganda machine. Turn them off, shut them down, send them home. Stop helping the dictator spread lies & hate.”

Kasparov wrote further that there is a need to “Expose and act against Putin's lackeys in the free world. If [Gerhard] Schröder and his ilk continue to work for Putin, bring charges. Ask the owners & advertisers of networks platforming Putin propagandists like [Tucker] Carlson why they allow it.”

Lastly, he wrote that the global community must “Russian oil & gas. Pressure OPEC, increase production, reopen Keystone. You can't save the planet if you don't save the people on it. -Acknowledge there will be costs, sacrifices. We waited too long, the price is high, but it will only get higher. It's time to fight.”

Assessing the Effectiveness of Leadership Decapitation in Counterinsurgency Campaigns
?
Patrick B. Johnston? September 24, 2010

Abstract

Is killing or capturing enemy leaders an effective military tactic? Previous research on interstate war and counterterrorism has suggested that targeting enemy leaders does not work. Drawing on newly collected data on counterinsurgency campaigns, new analysis on the effective- ness of leadership decapitation is presented in this paper. The results suggest that leadership decapitation is more effective than the conven- tional wisdom suggests. The paper contains three significant findings. First, campaigns are more likely to end quickly when counterinsurgents successfully target enemy leaders. Second, counterinsurgents who suc- cessfully capture or kill insurgent leaders are significantly more likely to defeat insurgencies than those who fail. Third, conflict intensity is more likely to decrease following successful leadership removals than after failed attempts. The implications of these results for academic research, military operations, and policy are explored in the conclusion.

Not that this is an insurgency, but the principles may apply: a snake without its head is dead.

I doubt it's possible, but the world (and ESPECIALLY Russia) would be far better off without that piece of shit.

If the Russian people were to hear, see and confirm what we know about Putin, they’d be pissed.

All Putin’s Men: Secret Records Reveal Money Network Tied to Russian Leader

Complex offshore financial deals channel money and power towards a network of people and companies linked to President Vladimir Putin.

By Jake Bernstein, Petra Blum, Oliver Zihlmann, David Thompson, Frederik Obermaier and Bastian Obermayer
International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, April 3, 2016

Excerpt…

The records show Roldugin is a behind-the-scenes player in a clandestine network operated by Putin associates that has shuffled at least $2 billion through banks and offshore companies, an investigation by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, German daily Süddeutsche Zeitung and other media partners has found.

In the documents, Roldugin is listed as the owner of offshore companies that have obtained payments from other companies worth tens of millions of dollars. A company linked to the cellist also grabbed secret influence over Russia’s largest truck maker, another snagged a big slice of Russia’s TV advertising industry.

It’s possible Roldugin, who has publicly claimed not to be a businessman, is not the true beneficiary of these riches. Instead, the evidence in the files suggests Roldugin is acting as a front man for a network of Putin loyalists – and perhaps for Putin himself.

Roldugin did not respond to detailed questions. Reporters from the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, an ICIJ partner, met briefly with the musician after a concert in Moscow last week. Roldugin told them he needed more time to review the questions and determine what he could say.

About 100 financial deals related to the network are described in the leaked documents. They are complex. Payments are disguised in various ways. On paper, shares in companies are swapped back and forth in a day. Documents are backdated. Questionable financial penalties are assessed. The rights to multimillion-dollar loans are sold between offshore companies for $1.

War, in a way, takes pressure off the supercrook. We need to keep it going via Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse and all the rest that skirt legality.

For example, from 2015:

Excerpt…

Because of favorable oil prices the Russian oligarchy was drowning in money and was greeted in the West with open arms. Hybrid war is what Kasparov calls this Kremlin tactic of buying power and influence for itself in the West.

“Hybrid war is not just the Crimean Anschluss or the provoking of the first clashes in the Donbas. Hybrid war is the purchase of the Chelsea Football Club by Abramovich. Hybrid war is integrating the capital the Russian thieves have raked in into all the spheres of Western social, cultural, and political life. That process took place at a very rapid pace. Judging from what is happening today, though, not only has the process slowed down, but it looks like a rollback has started,” said the opposition leader.

Kasparov also said that the plan Putin had to destroy Ukrainian statehood utilizing the vast resources he had at his disposal and the virtually carte blanche treatment the West gave him has failed.

There's plenty of oil and gas to get us through the crisis.

If we start running low, grab Putin's oil and gas facilities in Siberia, which he has left largely undefended so he can send troops to Ukraine.
