Russian Standard, along with lesser-known vodka Green Mark, are one of the few alcohol brands

Russian Standard, along with lesser-known vodka Green Mark, are one of the few alcohol brands imported from Russia and sold in the United States. It's parent company, Roust International, is owned by Roustam Tariko, a Russian oligarch who also owns Russian Standard Bank. The alcohol company didn't immediately respond to CNN Business' request for comment.
These boycotts are largely symbolic because Russian-made vodka accounts for a very small percentage of the roughly $7 billion in annual vodka sales, according to the Distilled Spirits Council (DISCUS), a national trade organization that represents spirits makers.

Less than 1% of vodka consumed in the United States is produced in Russia. In fact, more than half of all vodka consumed domestically is actually made here, according to data from IWSR Drinks Market Analysis, a global firm that tracks alcohol sales.

I still don't like the sound of buying Stoli or Smirnoff!

2. Interesting... I remember Stoli being the only Russian vodka widely available

But that was back in Soviet days. I've never been a big vodka drinker, and pretty much all I get nowadays is Tito's.

8. "I get nowadays is Tito's." Same here. To me all vodka tastes the same. Distill to 95% ETOH

and you have vodka. Cut it with good water and VOILA!!
I tested out my theory at a party one time. I have a friend who works at a bar and got me some empty French Gray Goose bottles. Supposedly the "best" vodka out there.
Filled the Gray Goose bottles up with Titos. EVERYBODY said the vodka from the Gray Goose bottle was better...HA!! same shit...
Marketing at it's best..

3. Tito's vodka from Austin, TX.

Good flavor, reasonably priced, doesn't prop up enemies of U.S. democracy. Highly recommended.

4. Smirnoff is a British-owned brand.

I usually stick with Finnish or Scandinavian vodka brands, although there are a few American brands that I like.

Even if it's only symbolic, and will do nothing to harm the Russian export economy, I'm staying away from Russian brands until this is all over, or perhaps forever. It's a shame; Russian Standard is pretty good. A classmate of mine in PA School who is from Russia recommended it to me. I hope he's switching brands right now, too. I suspect he opposes the invasion, since he is Jewish.

7. Are people really boycotting some vodkas

Because they have Russian names? Smirnoff is owned by a British company for example.

11. They're boycotting actual Russian vodkas

Smirnoff and Stoli are listed as options to avoid Russian brands. I was surprised because I remembered Stoli being Russian from my college days in the 80s, but apparently it isn't anymore.

12. French vodka, Grey Goose, is the top of the line and so drinkable.

It's got a natural hint of lemon that sets it above all the rest.
