A question for DU's grammar police

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Yonnie3 (a host of the General Discussion forum).

I have a little matter with a local court (taken care of) and I have to pay a fine which of the 2 is right?

Is their a case # for this or is it under my name? or Is there a case # for this or is it under my name?

thanx

the article "a" makes it a thing, therefore "their" would be incorrect. No?
