If they are allowed into NATO today, American troops would be required by treaty to defend Ukraine from Russia TODAY

If Putin truly has lost it he will start nuking cities, he warned as much in his little speech. He will not be willing to look weak by not following through with his threat

5. Not saying how it should go

but if he did that, he can kiss all of Russia goodbye. It isn't like he's the only one with nukes. And, not just the US. India is not with us, and perhaps Pakistan, but other countries would also be involved. The only question is what would China and NK do.

I live on the West Coast. One day, I'll go to sleep and simply not wake up. That's what could happen. Or, I'll join some militia, be the first one off the truck, and the first one shot. I'm old, I don't care, but that's the way it is turning out. I wake up, say, oh, I wasn't nuked last night, and then go about my business. And, I don't live anywhere near Ukraine. But, I think about it, and wonder what I would do if a mushroom cloud suddenly appeared. Where would I go, what would I do.

I thank G-d that I am not a Ukrainian parent with small kids to protect. I feel really bad that we can't fight for them. Eff Pewtin. I pray every day for this all to go away. Some Russian group needs to take Putin out. Capture him, send him to the Hague.

If UN authorizes military action by allies (as they did in Kuwait and Korea), then maybe we should reconsider sending troops in, risking nuclear war.

(Edit: more cautious phrasing)

But sadly the UN is so diminished that I don't really understand how it works.

Only Security Council. If that weren’t true, the UN wouldn’t exist as such.
