I have a question about sanctions

As of last night;

1. Why isn't US air space closed to Russian planes?
2. Why did Shell and BP divest from Russia's oil and gas industry but Exxon Mobil has not?

Just asking, there may be good reasons?

As to #1, Putin closed Russian airspace to the UK and others planes as a counter-sanction to they closing their airspaces to Russian planes, which resulted in a dramatic more than 20% drop in air cargo shipments to those countries because the planes must fly over Russian airspace from Asia.

If the U.S. closes their airspace to Russian planes, Putin will counter in closing Russian airspace to U.S. planes, resulting in a devastating decline in U.S. cargo planes making deliveries from Asia.

That's why.
