It's easy to sit in Oakland, CA and feel smug because I have Barbara Lee in the House and Barbara Boxer in the Senate. I applaud all of us who are fighting the good fight in places where things don't come so easy.

But what I worry about is making DAMN SURE California STAYS bright, brilliant BLUE.

Not too many people are focused on that, seems to me. I don't want to wake up some day and see California described as turning purple - or WORSE! I think we better not take it for granted, and keep working on keeping the Golden State BLUE.

Same thing with the Latino voting bloc. We can't afford to take this one for granted, either. The bad guys can start making inroads via religion and so-called "family issues." WE HAVE TO NIP THAT IN THE BUD - before it metastasizes beyond our control. And I don't think anyone's really focusing on that too much, either.

I'm fairly confident the president will win a second term. But i'm feeling dejected about the fact that there are so many people supporting the Republican nominee and party. I don't understand those people.

for women. This or jumping down a long, steep flight of stairs...I remember the mothers all whispering about this when a neighbor broke her leg doing just that...the fetus was not dislodged. Always remember that this is not about being pro-life, but being anti-female sexuality.
