What has "Taking the High Road" gotten us in the past 20+ years?

The Will Smith thing highlights what I believe to be a weakness on the part of Liberals/Democrats.

Yes, we aspire to take the high road...but when you're being punched from the lower road w/o consequence...it always gets worse. Bullies only understand force; see TFG and Putin et all.

It can't be extrapolated into a bigger narrative on politics or society. It was just one celebrity losing his cool and assaulting another.

Otherwise, did Chris Rock take the high road by not clubbing Will Smith over the head with something after Smith just assaulted him in front of a half billion viewers?

How do I punch thee?
Let me count the ways:

Shut off the F-ing TV and write some postcards, sell your genuine imitation neutralizer and GI Joe with the Kung Fu grip, and give the money to a candidate.

We need the John Lewis Voting Rights act.
YEARS AGO.

And please donate to Ukraine Relief. People are dying while we watch and comment on roundball and actors acting.

Apologies if this rant against eye candy is misdirected. I can't post this to every thread that goes down this rabbit hole.
