The MTG hearing on whether or not she should be barred from office

is concerning. If she is found to be eligible to hold office, she will say she was vindicated and use it to further fundraise and as a mandate to double down.
On the other hand if the judge recommends that she be disqualified from holding office it could set a dangerous precedent that is equally bad.
She has not been charged , let alone convicted of insurrection or anything like it.

If states can decide that somebody is not eligible to hold office based on the fact they think that person violated the 14th amendment, what is there to stop dumbfuckistan states to declare democrats should be disqualified because they stole the election and violated the 14th amendment by denying Trump his presidency ?

"No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof."

This isn't an episode of Perry Mason where a smoking gun piece of evidence will be presented at the last minute. If it was, the lead up questioning would have proceeded differently.

all the Repugs that were in on that call and didn't follow through with bringing TFG down - subject to this Amendment?

They basically backed down on holding TFG accountable and fell in line with the 'Big Lie' and the insurrection and the coup. Aren't they all accessories to this?

Upon An Edit:

If all the Repugs in on that call are accessories - and based on this 14th amendment - then wouldn't this MTG thing today - be a precedent setting outcome if she is found not fit to run in the future. Wouldn't that outcome effect all the Repugs that buckled under and didn't hold TFG accountable - and in the end supported TFG and his 'Big Lie'?

Any number of state officials in Arizona will tell you that Joe Biden stole the election and is subverting the country. They will tell you that Democrats are all communists and engaging in insurrection all day long.

we have a different standard here than GA apparently has. We are able to kick people off the ballot for not being qualified to serve.

I can't imagine a random backwater judge from a state having the power to make that determination. It could be easily abused. If she was indicted by the feds that would be another matter.

Has pretty specific definition of what constitutes “insurrection”. The judge just can’t pull it out of his ass.

I think it is important to get her on the record. She’s gonna say she’s exonerated no matter what probably would be worse if she is disqualified. Anything to get these lying sacks of shit to testify under oath

The GOP is firming up their grip on Secretary of State offices and voting procedures in a number of states. Certainly Arizona is fertile ground for them to do this sort of thing and then claim it to be hypocritical to object.

She comes across as lethargic, brain-dead, and without her usual combative (though manufactured) edge. She's writing opposition ads against her for us.
