When faced with a conventional army with less than half the overall material they have their battle doctrine fails on just logistics alone.

A very sizeable portion of the RU military budget goes to nuclear weapons, strategic forces, the navy, internal security forces and R&D.

They have never been good at going on the offensive. It's always been like the US civil war, a war of attrition, which is what we are seeing now. We want to see results NOW!...but in Moscow, they are willing to wait for the results.

... Russia in the vein of NK and there were some immediate affects and there will be long term .. like in a year ... that can't be reversed as fast as they were put into place.
