Am I wrong remembering this happened when TFG was in office,

That Gerome Powell the Fed chairman was going to raise the interest rate to curb a inflationary trend coming, then TFG more or less threatened him not to, or he would get fired? Why isn't the media putting the focus on that, the failures of TFG's covid policies, which caused it to worsen with increased shutdowns and shortages. Instead they say Biden , over and over again with inflation, after he's done a remarkable job with getting people back to work vaccinated. China shutdowns are also a source of causing inflated prices, and with corporations greedily raising prices to increase their profit margins. Media is wrong how they're blaming Biden instead of TFG.

and business geniuses. *sarcasm*

When Republicans are in charge no matter what happens to the economy they must get a pass on ‘bad’ and commended on ‘good’ because they are the presumptive pro-business Party.

However, when Democrats are in charge they must never be praised for economic successes. Any fiscal success must *still* be attributed to Republicans or simply ignored as just luck.

Some coordinated messaging could help:

Democrats are pro-business.
Labor unions promote higher pay which reduces government program spending.
Democratic policies have historically benefited the economy more than Repubs.
Democrats enact real fiscal policies that help all Americans.
Democrats want to lift all Americans, not just the wealthiest.

Republicans are one-trick ponies with tax avoidance schemes for high rollers.
Republicans don’t care about workers.
Republicans recklessly push policies that only help fat-cats.
Republicans don’t care about training a skilled trades labor force.
Republicans are like toddlers, you can’t leave them unsupervised.

To what extent do you think today's "inflation" is actually big business actively trying to tank the Biden administration with price gouging, etc., so they can get their corrupt, incompetent, failed "businessman" back in charge?

Profits lost during the Covid shutdowns are being recouped. President Biden and Congress injected a ton of money into the economy to ease the pain quickly. Workers discovered that in many instances their employers don’t give a shit about them, so they left and never came back. Employers were forced to up wages. More money, higher wages, high demand for goods. World situation with all countries jockeying for position.

I’ll say this… I think Republicans only care about power. They will do nothing to help Joe Biden to help the country. Republicans will not willingly do anything to reduce inflation. They are so much “Do the opposite of Democrats” that they would rather see total collapse of our systems in order to win than help out. I think Republicans will glom onto any circumstance to float a trial balloon for political effect.

There is inequality in the country which causes inflation to hurt lower income Americans badly. This is what Republicans exploit for political gain. And, I think it is a worldwide problem. I think big business is just being themselves and are raising prices accordingly to maximize profit, country be damned. And, if that helps Republicans, they won’t lift a finger to stop them.

I don't know what Trump said but Powell would not have taken it seriously. Inflation was rising rapidly before the China shutdowns and "corporate greed" is an old slogan which is always dragged out but never proved.
