The Supreme Court used to protect Americans from the "tyranny of the majority"
Now it's enabling the tyranny of the minority

1. Religious Liberty is Carte Blanche
They can do whatever they want, wrap it in the first amendment, and get away with it. Of course the part about not establishing a religion they seem to ignore. How they could pass a law based on a religious belief yet claim to follow the constitution is beyond me. All the arguments against gay marriage are based on religion. So any ban on gay marriage would be a religious law as I see it.
I married last year in my 50s after decades in the closet. I finally started coming out after moving to CA. My husband has ChampVA insurance because I’m a disabled veteran. I’m really concerned if the federal government revokes recognition what happens to things like my spouses social security (I made a lot more money than he did), VA survivor benefits, healthcare, capital gains on the house, etc. It’s a scary time. |

2. What about the liberties of those whose religious beliefs don't consider abortion a sin?

7. As far as the SC is concerned, we are much like Islamic nations, there is but one true God.
He (and he is a he) resides in the King James version of the Holy Bible, as interpreted by the protestants. Any other God, or the lack of belief in the one true God, renders you less than a full American and cancels your Constitutional rights. The conception of separation of church and state is the belief that anyone who does not believe in the one true god, is separated from the protection of the state.
Get on board little children, get on board little children, get on board little children there's room for many-a-more. |

3. This is the result of their constant take-over of the courts by
getting right wing, and in many cases unqualified, judges installed. It's been the long game and it's finally coming to their end game. This has been fueled with the huge amount of funds that they have available.

5. To a degree, yes. However many of the rights African Americans enjoy today
are the result of SCOTUS rulings

6. To a small degree
Institutional racism facilitated the theft of land that has not been returned to this day.
