To the corporations that are offering to transport women to where the can have abortions.
Why thank you.
But maybe, you could withdraw political donations to politicians and groups who are making this necessary.
Or maybe you could pull out of states that make abortion illegal.
Because you know that not many women are going to tell their bosses about an unwanted pregnancy. So this offer costs you almost nothing.
And how are you going to deal with the religious fanatics that will require that you require that said women need to have a waiting period and watch a series of videos about the evils of abortion.
And are you going to provide babysitting for said employees other children while they have to travel and be gone so long for abortion that could be provided at a clinic in their neighborhood.
And what are you going to do about the crazy people who work for you who decide to dox their co workers for having abortion because they feel empowered by living where abortion has been made illegal.
I can picture the meetings that corporate America is having. A bunch of mostly guys saying yes, this will work, we can stay out of it for the cost of a taxi. Even though 70% of Americans want Ror v Wade to remain.
No corporate america, you are not allowed to stay out of this. You need to stand up to these religious fanatics. You cannot say you are helping by putting a band aid on aneurism. You need to do more.
And we need to insist on more from you.
sons girlfriend? The problem is they got exactly what they paid for they just didnt bother reading the fine print until now. All those campaign donations to the right-wingers who promised to cut taxes were the same people who promised to overturn Roe v Wade. They are as culpable for this disaster as the 5 POS USSC justices.
DeSantis's Disney "don't say gay" tax temper tantrum infuriated corporations..they righteously denounced DeSantis (how dare you fuck with our tax exempt status!) ..they canceled conferences, conventions, special events, and yet these same corporations have/are donating to Republican congress creeps who conspired to overthrow a presidential election..the same congress creeps who are now celebrating the end of Roe v Wade..
I address this to those same corporations..how about this: imagine women are your revered tax exempt status and the lying assholes on the court said "tax exempt status is illegal and gone forever"..is that what it would take for you to join us in our outrage?
who MUST, by law, behave as sociopaths. They cannot remove themselves from acting solely on the basis of making profits. Its who they are. So they are actively citing their bottom line when offering to aid women who are seeking reproductive health treatment.
Do not be deceived. Corporations are not altruistic. They are sociopathic.
If corporations (let's use the "C" corporation - for profit) must maximize profits and not worry about the cost to society, then they are acting sociopathically and should be isolated, perhaps imprisoned.
Of course we don't treat the C-suite of these corporations or even the boards as instruments of this sociopathy. They are hide themselves behind their monster that can cause all the damage.
Now that would really be taking a stand. But no, you just can't give up those yummy tax advantages, can you?
HTF is a red state pregnant individual who wants an abortion supposed to even LINE UP an abortion procedure in a blue state, much less get there and back without being detected by the red state pregnancy monitors?
These promises to pay for travel are meaningless without a whole lot of detailed logistical details, which even then will probably be meaningless. If these corporations gave a shit about their employees they wouldn't have relocated (looking at you, you repulsive fucker Elon Musk) to low wage, anti-union red states in the first place.
RW-infected vehicles. Moving his company to low-tax, woman-hating, minority-hating TX with a crappy power grid to save money while scorching the rights of half his potential employees.
if they win the house back.

Congress, and presidency.
Fight harder to get supreme with Obama. It makes me so mad that they get away with so much.
is part of the problem. We shouldn't allow them to pose as part of the solution.
South because it would be cheaper, I have to wonder why they continue to stay in the South. I mean, logically I know it's because of obscene profits made by exploiting workers and freely polluting the environment, but they are sooo short-sighted. If they pick up these costs now, other costs will escalate over time, i.e.: more money put into attracting and maintaining an educated workforce; transporting/moving threatened marginal employees to safer states (because this is just the beginning of open season on liberals); and legal costs when they're slapped up with lawsuits for accessory to murder for assisting women in obtaining abortions. Not to mention the cost of the climate change barreling down the pike.
And then of course there's the whole debacle of forcing women to talk to their bosses about wanting/needing an abortion! Surely that has to fall under some umbrella medical privacy law. It's not like employers have access to HIPAA information, so unless the employee consents/feels free to volunteer that info, cool. But what if they have a fundie boss or coworker? That's gonna get a lot of pushback, especially from any unionized company. More company money for legal fees! How are investors going to feel about spending that money?
would you REALLY want to share with HR (or whomever one deals with) that you were off for an abortion? A procedure that is not complicated, doesn't take more than part of a morning or afternoon, requires no overnight stay in the hospital? Who would want to share this info with their co-workers?
But sucks for the millions who don't work for them if they are funding conservatives
Doesn't work for contractors. Doesn't work for part-time employees. Doesn't work for women who don't/can't work. Doesn't work for women who may be married to a jerk who works for one of these "beneficent" corporations.
Just like health care. Make this a national right for everyone living in the US.
