Payton Gendron is the suspect accused of killing at least 10 people at a Tops Friendly Market grocery store in Buffalo, New York, on Saturday, May 14, 2022. Gendron was taken into custody at the scene, Buffalo Police said. Three others were wounded. Gendron is facing first-degree murder charges in New York state court and could also face federal charges, including hate crimes, officials said. The names of the victims have not been released yet.

A racist and anti-Semitic manifesto and a Twitch livestream were attributed online to the gunman, but authorities have not verified those accounts. A graphic video emerged that shows bodies lying in the parking lot as law enforcement officers take the suspect into custody. Gendron is from Conklin, New York. He said in the manifesto he is an 18-year-old college student and a self-described white supremacist. Gendron was shot by a security guard, but was not injured because he was wearing body armor, Buffalo Police said at a press conference.

Conklin is more than 200 miles southeast of Buffalo in the Southern Tier region of New York. Gendron included his name in the manifesto and The Associated Press confirmed his identity with law enforcement sources. Gendron appeared in court Saturday night for his arraignment, officials said. He is being held without bail. He is scheduled to return to court in five days, according to authorities. A mugshot has not been released, but photos from the local media show Gendron in court:

early onset racist hate based on strictly superficial criteria eg: skin colour can be treated. Yet to me here in the oldskool understanding of most racist actions it seems, in the race-culture area, to be an untreated unreasoning unmitigated hate based on superficial criteria again eg: skin colour and white supremacy in white adults. It's an untreated disease in many, many people worldwide, especially here with America's history/herstory where innocent unarmed people are charged every day in America based only on their skin colour. So in answer to your question. Yes, the perpetrators of actions that result in fatal consequences for many innocent/unarmed Americans can be charged also with premeditated murder with racial intent.

All of the human race, to me, seem to hate one thing or another eg: loud talking people and their phones in public, real loud noises etc, but we accept them. The case of systemic white hate as is found in America has been consistently and willfully overlooked(accepted) with the continuing acceptance that there is no real solution to racism in our racially and culturally diverse nation. Equal justice will have to be given both in the jury and Jurist selection. Justice is another area that is changed. At present, a packed Supreme Court. The rule of law must prevail. Equal treatment under the law for all.

He’s white. My son is mostly Native American and he often says I’m the whitest person he’s ever seen. Apparently my blond eyebrows fade into my pale, pale skin. That kid has a gorgeous completion, and the longest, thickest jet black hair on earth. I’m about 5 feet tall and he’s 6’3”. We are an odd family dynamic for sure. Because of racism, I’ve learned to notice these differences, which is sad because I was raised to not care about our outer shells. But I now know a white kid when I see one, and he’s white.
