My Pc is saying "doesn't currently meet the minimum system requirements"

This PC doesn't currently meet the minimum system requirements to run windows 11. Get the details and see if there are things you can do in the PC Health Check app.

And I am having trouble loading pictures from phone to my email, that is why I was checking. I have had other bothersome issues.

Why? Anyone know what I am supposed to do, if I want to do, who do I take it to, or get a new laptop?

Edit to add: When I try to send me pictures from my sons text it tells me: 9 unsent messages. They are setting in my outbox and when I try to down/upload from phone it tells me: Cannot send mail. The connection to the outgoing server failed.

1. Did you buy it with Windows 11 on it, or did you upgrade? (nt)

2. You don't need to do anything...

...you can still run the laptop on Windows 10 just fine.

There is no need to upgrade. Just make sure that you have the Windows 10 updates to keep it current for security concerns.

The picture problem has nothing to do with the version of Windows you are running.

4. Ok. I mean that makes sense, but I cannot even get my computer to do a scan in

security. I thought it maybe had a virus I picked up when I was out of town.

9. You can't pick up a virus...

...if your computer is not on (out of town.)

For most computers nowadays classic virus signatures are not the threat. Most performance issues are due to malware. The major threat is ransomware for both individuals and businesses. The greatest protection from ransomware is regular data and or full image backups. I use a product called Macrium Reflect. They have a free version which does a great job. The paid version is great as well. It is the cheapest insurance you can buy from an old line very reputable company.

The biggest problem that I see, especially for older customers, is the "phone call" from "tech support". More people are scammed by this fraud than any other. That is when "support people" convince you to give them access to your computer because they claim:

1 - Your hard drive is failing.
2 - Your computer has a virus.
3 - Your email account has been "hacked".
4 - Your bank account has been "hacked".
5 - Your Amazon account has been "hacked".
6 - Dell/HP/Microsoft "support" has found a problem.

There are all kinds of come-ons and they are all fraudulent.

These criminals make millions of dollars off unsuspecting users who are afraid and unsophisticated. DON'T FALL FOR IT.

If anyone asks to get access to your computer hang up the phone immediately!

The built in anti-virus for Windows 10 (Windows Defender) works fine. That is all I use. It is always running in the background and it is totally free. Just make sure you always perform the Windows updates, which Microsoft aggressively pushes out at least once a month. To make sure the updates install you must regularly restart your computer. Just putting it to sleep will not install the updates.

8. I can't know...

...there are too many variables to say.

I do this for a living. I am an IT consultant in Northern California with almost 40 years of experience in both software and hardware.

6. 11 requires security and other requirements built into hardware, so computers as current as a year

and a half may not meet minimum requirements. Only alternative is to buy a computer that supports windows 11, or stay on windows 10, unless Microsoft decides to loosen their requirements, which is not likely

7. Regarding your phone, it sounds like your not connected to the internet . Make sure your connected

to wifi or that your phones mobile data is switched on.

regarding your laptop, you don't need windows 11, windows 10 should work just fine for the next couple of years.
