I know it more than likely can't happen, BUT
I would love to see the Biden administration say to the American people, that They will SUE the oil companies, and if they succeed they will return every penny to the American people, in the form as fuel rebates!

3. Seconded
As far as popular support, yeah I think this would be a winner. I haven’t really thought through unintended consequences of reaching into business decisions.
How do they figure they can bypass demand decline attached to price creases? Don’t they see that this just makes renewables a better deal? I’m guessing they have enough power of computation and quants, must have decided that the short term benefit is worth the risk for them. Praying they are wrong. |

4. repugs are knocking down everything that Pres. Biden and the Democratic Caucus are passing,
so we'll look 'bad' later. Note the baby formula efforts being knocked down by republicans this a.m.
What other underhanded measures are they (repugs) pulling too, in order to make us look bad? Party over country, eh? A sickening and pathetic way to run a national political party. No wonder ex-republicans are fleeing the gop. |

5. How much do you think it would be per person (remember oil companies operate internationally)?

6. I have no idea (over my head) BUT
Still could be interesting holding public hearings in the House at least? Could be a winner for our elections, even if we don't receive much money.

7. If we can cut our driving in half we cut the cost to our pocketbook.
And reduce the profits of the Wealth class owned Oil corporations. The cost of gas may now make people who can change that daily trip to once a week? Car pooling can cut the cost going to work, if possible. Going slower, accelerating slower helps too. If individuals fight back and conserve corporations notice. I will be staying put more for sure.
