LAFD caught on video beating man caught trying to enter fire station

A shocking video showing local firefighters punching and kicking a person at Los Angeles City Fire Station 6 is going viral.

LAPD says that person was allegedly trying to break into the fire station, and station firefighters were forcibly removing that person from their property.

Multiple investigations are now underway.

L.A. Fire Department Station 6 on Virgil Avenue in Silver Lake, next to the 101 Freeway, is surrounded by homeless encampments, and according to LAPD, a man tried to break into the fire station Friday just before 2 p.m.

They say that firefighters assigned to the station literally kicked the man off their property, as seen in this video shared with Eyewitness News.

Cristina Ruiz lives behind the fire station and knows the man, who was seen in the video wearing some type of wig.

"The person with the wig, he's a troublemaker. Sometimes he throws bottles in the middle of the street. Against the cars," Ruiz said. "He's a bad person. So bad. He always fights with the other homeless, with our residents."

At least one of those firefighters appears to be a PoC himself.

Three men beating up one is pretty damn ugly no matter who does it.

"The person with the wig, he's a troublemaker. Sometimes he throws bottles in the middle of the street. Against the cars," Ruiz said. "He's a bad person. So bad. He always fights with the other homeless, with our residents."

It sounds like the person is basically crazy & mean. He should be getting treatment but
as we live in a shithole country with no right to mental health care, and these kinds of problems (and awful interactions)
will proliferate.

Reading between the lines, this probably isn't the first encounter between the firefighters and this individual. Firefighters
are paid by tax dollars to be ready to go put out fires - maybe your home - and (sorry - cold hearted - I know)
they don't need to be dealing with crazy people trying to break in to the station. Is the guy dangerous?
Does he break things like ambulances and firetrucks? Does he bite? Does he stab people? Not a facetious
question. At one time I worked in a mental treatment center and was bitten twice by schizophrenic patients.
We don't know from the article which is merely a snapshot.

Well, "...at least not beat the guy up." Call the LA cops? Might as well call the mortuary.
We know how that works. Welcome to the decline of our civilization.
Eventually we'll all harden our hearts because we will be inundated with absolute shit from all directions simply because
the very wealthy don't want to pay taxes and especially taxes going to the most vulnerable and "Hey middle class - "fuck you."

edited to add:

I'm a little grumpy this morning.
