Biden gets legal defeat, and political reprieve

" . . Biden had been caught between the growing chorus of Democrats calling for Title 42 to be extended and other voices — both in the mainstream of his party and among the activist base – who believe its rescission is already overdue.

Democratic senators facing tough reelection battles this fall have been especially to the fore in resisting Biden’s plans.

They include Sens. Mark Kelly (Ariz.), Maggie Hassan (N.H.), Catherine Cortez Masto (Nev.) and Raphael Warnock (Ga.). Some liberal-leaning candidates have also expressed misgivings, including the party’s Senate nominee in Pennsylvania John Fetterman and Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, who is also a Senate candidate. . . .

The motley maga Republican crew in Arizona are still fighting in a primary "race to the bottom". Senator Kelly is getting a lot of free publicity. I believe many Republicans and Independents will vote for Senator Kelly in November. imo

...the actual story is Democrats actually achieving economic results, and republicans shooting themselves in the feet.

The article did not mention prior reports that 9 Dem Senators went to Biden, with the need to win in November, - and how 42 hurts.
Thats big.

[Some here seem to think that such things just shouldn't be published, here at DU especially.
Realism may be a good thing, for actually enacting Democratic policy into law.
As the Speaker often notes, 'elections determine policy'].

...THIS IS REPUBLICAN PROPAGANDA FROM A REPUBLICAN-ORIENTED NEWS ORG. :

your article:

There are concerns about the readiness of government agencies to deal with a massive new influx of migrants — projected to rise as high as 18,000 per day.

There are also fears about the political potency of the issue, and its capacity to be weaponized by the GOP in the run-up to the midterm elections.

Democrats already face a grim environment in those elections, with Biden’s approval ratings at a low ebb and inflation running at its highest levels since the early 1980s.

...no one should be spreading this deliberate cynicism and fearmongering, but here we are.

Cheap, short-sighted, dismissals here and now, don't count for getting Biden legislation passed. 2021 was an added learning experience for many Democrats.

'Fetterman is certainly not on an island. Five more Democratic Senate candidates told POLITICO they disagree with the way the Biden administration is phasing out Title 42, the latest sign that Biden’s policy position is a big loser among purple-state Democrats facing tough elections. . . . ' Warnock also
“Senator Warnock believes in protecting the humanity of migrants at the border, but before this policy is rescinded, the Administration should present a plan for how it will ensure our border security has the manpower, infrastructure, humanitarian and legal resources they need to prevent this policy change from making an already dire humanitarian situation worse,” A spokesperson for Warnock said, according to Fox News.''

...give it a rest.

The Examiner is another republican leaning rag and shouldn't be used to determine where Democrats stand, much less be posted here at DU. Their main goal is to promote cynicism and apathy about the Democratic party and promote republicans.

This piece is one of their doozys, and I'm not interested in debating the turd of an article. You're wasting your time. Two republican leaning rags to, what, convince that Democrats are doomed? Wtf?
