Republican pattern when you try to discuss gun safety measures with them

1) Claim falsely that Dems only want total confiscation

2) Claim every proposed measure takes away their rights

3) Claim again that Dems only want total confiscation

4) Threaten that if Dems want to confiscate all the guns, go ahead and try it.

Meanwhile the next mass shooter is easily getting a gun.

so there's no point enacting them.

Claim the shooter broke the law by murdering people; a law wouldn't have stopped him from getting guns.

"Guns don't kill people, people kill people"

(that one was dusted off and rolled out today by some GOP lawmakers - or should I all them - "law-breakers" )

The winger mayor in Uvalde yesterday said that to Beto O'Rourke yesterday when he confronted Abbott about the tragedy and his failure in gun legislation.

It's always too early to discuss.

I had my way I would include handguns. There are also simple things like raising the gun age to 21, more strenuous background checks, no more gun fairs (or whatever you call them) and pass red flag laws.

Time to stop making excuses and do something about this insanity.
