Wall Street fat cat drops $240G on road trip to watch Giants take on Packers

-snip-

A Wall Street fat cat has paid a ridiculous $240,000 to fund a rolling party on wheels in a luxury packed RV that is making the 20 hour trek to Lambeau Field for Big Blue’s matchup against Green Bay tomorrow.

Joining the road trippers are two beautiful waitresses, a driver and even the executive chef at Old Homestead Steakhouse, which sold the trip.

Peter Serafin, 57, a married, Manhattan-born Green Bay Packer fan, is taking the trek with five diehard Giant fan pals. The crew is riding high on the hog with hundreds of pounds of prime beef, lobster, shrimp, caviar and enough booze to get an entire NFL team plastered.

“It’s exciting,” Serafin told The Post. “I can’t wait. I wish I was in Green Bay tailgating right now. It’s like a dream come true.”

Our whole tax system is based on a "Progressive Tax" yet Washington fails to acknowledge excessive executive compensation is a determent to the economy

their money or buying up mortgage backed securities or oil futures. Bottom line is there's nothing wrong with rich people playing in the sand box as long as they aren't shoveling all the sand out of our box and into their own.

but they are rubbing our noses in it. Time to tax the devil out of them and take some of that arrogance away.

What a waste of money, when so much could be done with it to benefit many more than this dork and his friends.

Meanwhile, back at the house...the girls are plotting their revenge. Tune in at 11:00.

Marie Antoinette.

We're not discussing "enjoying their money" as much as insensitive ostentacious display of recreational spending to excess. Like the $5,000 chocolate sundaes sprinkled with gold dust while news stories that day announce new efforts to restrict food stamps or unemployment benefits.

This is just a Wall Street type who wants to take his guy-friends on a road trip with top shelf booze and food, and some T & A. I agree it makes him look like a jerk, and I agree there are better ways to spend the money.

Both parties use it as political fodder. Just firing up Air Force One and renting a place secluded enough to keep the President secure is a lot of money. That said, I could not find a $4.3 M vacation. I did find this from 2010:

Just consider these estimates on part of the costs of the latest Obama Hawaii trip:

* Mrs. Obama’s early flight to Hawaii: $63,000 (White House Dossier)

* Obama’s round trip flight to Hawaii: $1 million (GAO estimates)

* Housing in beachfront homes for Secret Service and Seals in Kailua ($1,200 a day for 14 days): $16,800

* Costs for White House staff staying at Moana Hotel: $134,400 ($400 per day for 24 staff) – excluding meals and other room costs

* Police overtime: $250,000 (2009 costs reported by Honolulu Police Department)

* Ambulance: $10,000 (City Spokesperson)

TOTAL COST: $1,474,200

I understand that any time the President goes anywhere it costs lots of money. The cost of operating Air Force One comes with the territory, and one should not expect the President and his family to be prisoners in the White House for 4-8 years. That being said, I do not believe the "$4.3 million vacation" bullshit. Given the right-wing talking point and the low posting count of the person who made that claim, I suspect trollery. Just trying to give him a chance to prove me wrong.

Other than the context of course.

The drive time is totally inaccurate. I moved from the Jersey shore area to Green Bay in March and it took me 16 hours to get there (with an overnight stop).
