Dear "supreme court", if you're going to continue to flood this country with guns
Stop crying about being threatened by them.

She seems dumfounded. Apparently, life isn't sufficiently nasty, brutish and short.

That's as close as I will get. Always considered NYS to be pretty safe because of its gun laws. Not now. Won't be doing any cross-border shopping or visiting with relatives in any US state now. ![]() |

A couple friends and I were planning a vacation together somewhere in the US (we live here), but we decided to vacation in Canada this year. One of them said, "I don't feel safe in the US any longer." This was before today's godawful ruling.

18. I wonder if the SC justices
that now want guns everywhere in public would be against several people armed to the teeth parked outside their homes. On public streets. So, if the cops tried to make them disperse wouldn't that be in violation of their very ruling?
These worthless, pathetic, Death Party lackeys are simply going to get a lot more people killed. I'm really beginning to wonder if that's not by design. For the life of me I cannot understand why the part about a 'well regulated militia' is never referenced in decisions like these. |

Since Uvalde we've been told repeatedly that, the wording on the cars notwithstanding, the cops have no actual enforceable duty to protect.
"Supreme" ? get your own f'ing protection. Sue the cop that hides behind a million excuses for not protecting you. See where we are. My right to life and liberty is MUCH more important than any random fool who wants to wave a gun around in public. |

39. what the SC just
was to back themselves into a corner. The foundation of the gun ruling is that federal law overrides state law. The "plot" to throw out the abortion ruling is to give enforcement to the states. IOW, on one hand federal law rules, and OTOH, states rights takes precedent.

46. Read the ruling.
This is far from a mandate for "Constitutional" (i.e. permitless) carry. States can still set objective criteria for carry permits. What it does is remove the absolute discretionary power of the state to deny a permit without giving a reason. Judges and the PD (in NYC) have had that discretionary power in New York since the 1911 Sullivan Act, which was in part motivated by Tammany Hall's desire to ensure that their goons could be armed while those of their political rivals could not.
