So, how's that free trade working out for Europe? Youth unemployment is at 22.8%

Guess where all their jobs went to.

And European austerity is just making it worse and worse.

The Depressing Truth About Europe's Youth Unemployment Nightmare

Youth unemployment is rising steadily in the EU as the economic crisis in Europe deepens.

The latest data reveals an EU-wide youth unemployment rate of 22.8 percent, up from 21.7 percent a year ago as those under 25 continue to lose their jobs to the economic slowdown.

Meanwhile, the politics of the crisis are becoming more intense, and thousands have taken to the streets in countries like Spain, Portugal, Greece, Italy, and even France in recent months to voice their anger with government austerity measures that have exacerbated the unemployment issue.

As of yet, however, the countries with the highest youth unemployment rates – Spain and Greece – are doing little to put the brakes on austerity.

BRIC's growth is skidding to a low point that we would call nosebleed territory.

Funny, how they are highly protectionist...

4. Nonsense. The job providers saved pile's'o'cash sending jobs to the lowest bidders.

Those damned consumers just won't spend what money they have left on the job providers products now. It's the consumers fault for being so selfish and austere.

6. Good point. Austerity budgets are a relatively new (and disasterous) feature in Europe.

Their trade policies have not changed for decades through good times and bad.

Austerity budgets are an unfortunate consequence of the election of so many conservative governments there. Let's hope that pressure from the new French socialist government and the current trend towards the election of more liberal governments will reverse the trend of austerity.
