Urgent (desperate) question.

If the next Supreme Court term begins in October could a decision in favor of the independent state legislature theory come soon enough to affect the 2022 midterm election outcomes?

1. no.

they have to hear the cases, etc.. and then release decisions at end of term which will be june 2023.

7. That is a convention, not a rule/law...

they can release their decisions any time they like.

5. +1

Finding ways to circumvent/rewrite the law and stack the cards in their favor is required by Moscow Mitch protocol.

8. Ds need to adopt Nancy Reagan's drug policy - "Just Say No". Except for the very progressive

Ds in Congress have we heard any other Ds telling the Rs "No." Waiting till mid-terms is an excuse. It's never too early or too late to do the right thing.

10. It's about 2024, not 2022

The decision will come down in 2023, which would give states plenty of time to make any potential changes for 2024.

So . . . that'll be interesting.
