We have 5 Supreme court who never met

a Black person until at least college and questionable if they ever met an American black person. Roberts, Gorsuch, Kavanaaugh, Barrett all went to private high schools with at most one black person at those schools. Alito went to a public high school and I looked the high school yearbook. Not a single minority at his high school.

Even if they met "one" at their ivy league schools it was rare. They then went to prestigious law firm. Not exactly a lot of minorities at those firms.

It would be nice to have some well rounded justices for a change.

I don’t see how it makes a difference if you are black in America.

adopted after a large earthquake there, don't know about the other one, or why Goody Barrett decided to adopt from out of the country.

Perhaps American black foster kids are too uppity for Amy Coathanger Barrett...

elementary and high school years. Turned out she was the daughter of a diplomat. When I went to visit his birth home on Long Island he showed me the dock where the school bus dropped her off. From there, she took a boat ride across the river.

And then there was a black fraternity brother. This was a private college with 2% minorities. What that poor guy had to put up with.

Nope. These people have little to no experience with ordinary minorities.

or ever had to make a decision on which bills to skip paying when the money ran low, or worked a minimum wage job after high school, or - you get the picture. The 5 were raised in a different world than 95% of the Americans whose lives they control.

Heck, most of them are too young to remember the pre-EPA days when rivers caught fire and you could barely tell the sky was blue.

Rhodes college today has about a 10% black student body.

Most of the ivies have, and had when they would have attended, around 6% black student body.

Blow average, certainly, but not "one" or "rare".

That said, just because they had the opportunity to get to know some black people doesn't mean they did. Michelle Robinson (later Obama) was one of my classmates at Princeton, and I'm sorry to say I never met her. I did have some black friends, but more important, I listened and read and tried to understand a variety of perspectives beyond what I grew up around.

That awareness, empathy, consideration -- dare I say, wokeness -- is what's lacking from republicans, whether they've met black people or not.

Some of the most racist people are in states with 30% black population.
