So far (and for me) it started like a combo of flu and allergies (some minor aches/runny nose). Now it's more like just allergies---but I do get tired. I still do stuff around the house, but definitely not energetic. No loss of taste/smell.
The weird thing is that I feel like I'm super stuffed up, but nothing but water/saline comes out when I do my sinus rinse (Neil Med--I love it for colds), so not sure what that is all about. And my nose is definitely runny, so some drainage and periodic coughing/throat clearing. But nothing too bad.
My temp tends to run a little low (97 is typical) but it got as high as 99.4. Back to 97 today.

(3,250 posts)The other symptoms sound like a drag. There are always the things to do around the house. It makes them difficult when you're under the weather.
Take it easy, and rest, drink plenty of fluids, and eat what your body craves, or what you like best. Sending good thoughts of wellness your way.

(2,182 posts)I don't think. I'm not in a high-risk category. Plus, I'm not sure about the drugs themselves. I haven't had any major symptoms (yet, thank God and knock on wood). Hopefully there won't be any long-term affects.

(58,785 posts)I likely would be, so was reading about other available medications, and it's not at all simple is it? Paxlovid rebound now , though Fauci said it did what it was supposed to do even if he did feel much worse for a while.

(11,854 posts)Our son tested positive Monday at a "test to treat" facility here in NCC Delaware. They said the only ones getting the COVID meds are those personally in a high risk category. I thought maybe since he lives with me and I'm high risk (diabetes, just finished cancer treatment) and his GF is high risk (diabetes, autoimmune issues) that he might qualify. Instructions to him were to mask-up in the house (and for us to mask up if he's around us), keep a safe distance from others in the household, and take Tylenol for fever and Mucinex-D or Coricidin HBP for the runny/stuffy nose and minor cough. We're all vaxed and boosted. His fever seemed to break today even without meds so hoping it doesn't go back up tonight. He's hoping to be back at work on Saturday. Work told him that he could go back after 5 days with a mask if fever-free and symptoms were diminishing.
Hubby is concerned about the house ventilation/ac system. He bought a pack of filters to replace them every or every other day until we're all in the clear. Not looking forward to son going on a cruise in August with his GF and her family.

(2,182 posts)Glad he's feeling better, too. My work said the same thing--I'll go back Monday with a mask. I feel like I should be good by then. But I am using this time to rest...
