Trump, adult children testimony postponed in light of Ivana Trump death
Former President Donald Trump's testimony in the New York attorney general's civil investigation into his business practices will not take place as scheduled in light of his ex-wife Ivana's death, the attorney general's office said on Friday.
Nor will Trump's daughter Ivanka, and son Donald Jr. be questioned under oath as planned, the office said in a statement. The attorney general's office said it had received a request from counsel for the Trumps to adjourn the depositions in light of Ivanka and Donald Jr.'s mother passing.
A June 8 court-ordered agreement had called for all three to appear for testimony between July 15 and 22, and Reuters reported that the depositions, which will not be conducted in public, had been set for next week.
The Trumps had sought for months to avoid being questioned in the probe.

A detailed autopsy ought to be just the beginning of the investigation into Ivana Trump's death. If trump has given us reason to believe anything, it is that he will do anything to protect himself./i]

(7,737 posts)for anyone- even though I really don't feel anything about this one- it's sad to some people.
But, that's all it was.
I personally am watching my parents age in place with their washer and dryer in the basement while I am 100 miles away. I am 58 years old. You can bet your bippy that I am looking for a retirement home NOW. There are some nice ones- I personally want one that has both a bar and a library, so I can drink and read. Safely.
"She's old and fell."
You make it sound like she was someone with a walker who can't get around any more.
I'm the same age as she was. I just don't look or feel old and I have no health issues and I've never fallen, even when I ride my bike 18 miles.

(29,824 posts)When I worked in 9-1-1 it wasn't uncommon to get calls about falls, even for people in fantastic shape. A few of those calls the person was found dead.
It can happen at any age.

(16,332 posts)We all know that things can happen at any age. It's just the way his post started with "She's old and fell." As my daughter keeps reminding me, "73 is the new 53". Ha! She is on the opposite end of the spectrum because she thinks all 73 year olds are like her mother. Kind of bugs me that she doesn't see me as ever getting old.

(9,468 posts)As my body was doing backward flips down the stairs, I was sure I was dying. I actually ended up in a sitting position with a demolished shoulder. The sports dr who put my shoulder back together told me it was fun figuring out how to reconstruct it. My stairs are wood - I believe her stairs are marble from articles about her upper East side apt.

(12,222 posts)To get dog towel because it was raining and landed hard on counter on my side. Countertop at cabin we are renting is thick wood. Also hurt both heels. My back and side went instantly dark red until I iced for long time.
Today I feel like someone punched me in the side and back super sore. Can hardly walk, so much for hiking vacay!
I am 65 and learning my body is not 20 and I need to slow down no matter what I do.

(7,737 posts)I wrote in reaction to Ivana Trump's death generation conspiracy theories.
I am so worried about falling in 10 years that I have started looking at ranch houses, retirement communities, etc.
But, yes- it was poorly written and I am sorry I hit a nerve.

(32,272 posts)two years ago, where I had the option to choose my floor plan and numerous finish choices. I'm now 71. Surprisingly, about 2/3 of the homes that were built in here (mostly older folks, but not exclusively a 55+ community) people elected to build the upstairs bonus suite. I did not. Didn't need the space and didn't want the stairs.
By and large, I'm happy with my house. But the HOA situation is a real PITA. The developer made all kinds of promises--which aren't being honored--and doesn't intend to turn the HOA over to us until he finishes the second phase--which hasn't even started--which means it could be at least three years before we in this first phase are in control of our HOA Board.
Just a caveat. If you are looking at retirement communities, be careful if they are being built in "phases".

(7,737 posts)Near Charlotte- maybe Shelby, Salisbury or in that vicinity. That would not be in a retirement community- just a regular neighborhood.
The retirement communities I am looking at are the long established ones that have a proven financial track record. That would be an apartment situation. There's a nice one in South Charlotte that has a community garden- and should I want to drop by the Harris Teeter, and van to call for a ride.
It's pricey as hell.

(32,272 posts)which I thoroughly loved, when I bought into this Epcon community being built in Durham (near Southpoint). It was a Covid motivated move because I felt like I was playing Russian roulette every time I got on the elevator in April 2020. The house was finished in December 2020 and I moved in on Jan 6 2021! I was literally moving in the day of the attack on the Capitol. Had no idea what was happening until Spectrum came to hook me up for internet/cable the next day.
I loved living downtown where I walked to everything. Had tickets for the ballet and symphony where I walked to the performing arts center. There were some weeks I didn't take my car out of the parking garage but once to go to Harris Teeter. Great restaurants in walking distance--a favorite right across the street--and a DG convenience store one block away for picking up milk or something without having to drive to Harris Teeter. I LOVED it. Post office and branch library two blocks away. But Covid changed everything.
I occasionally go on the website for the apartment building. My very same apartment was up for rent several months ago, and it was going for $500/mo MORE than what I was paying for it just two years ago. But Zillow also says my house is worth $200K MORE than what I paid, which is crazy. Just crazy.
Everything is pricey as hell around here.

(7,737 posts)Asheville is beyond ridiculous- that was always my dream retirement city (for over 40 years- I loved that place)...but it's out of reach now and the crime is getting so bad that when we visit, we are back in our hotel room after dark.

(32,272 posts)He and his wife sold their house in Raleigh in January 2020--right before Covid hit--and bought an older ranch style house in Hendersonville. They love it. It's not in an HOA development. They hike. He gardens. Downside is a lot of Trumpist type neighbors, but it's not far to Asheville.

(16,332 posts)You know what makes DU look stupid? Continuing to carry the mantra of "When they go low, we go high" as we get our asses kicked up one side and down the other.
I don't care if it is a conspiracy theory. The other side has been doing that shit for decades about our people. Have you forgotten the "Hillary and Bill had Vince Foster killed" or "Pizza Gate" or any other number of "Hunter Biden's laptop".
I will never believe the story about Jeffrey Epstein's "suicide". Guards sleeping. Cameras not working. Yet some on here took others to task for saying they thought he was murdered.

(15,418 posts)wherever they go. They have earned every ounce of added grief that can be heaped on them.
Their covid is a hoax, anti mask wearing, hydroxychloroquine swilling lead to the deaths of hundreds of thousands people. My own father and cousin being one of them.

(14,817 posts)where's your evidence of that?
Or is this just another wild conspiracy theory without fact?

(15,418 posts)Neither did the people who told me my Dad didn't die from Covid, he dies from inhaling fibers from his mask. They didn't have proof that Hydroxychloroquine or Ivermectin worked for Covid. Only the mango man's say so. This line of thinking led to the deaths of how many people.
IOW my premise is not the CT it is to cause the trumps pain. They deserve every ounce of it.
