The results in 1616 must have been brutal for livestock and people living there.

I have to drive something, to get to places I need to go. (Public transit is very, very limited in my area.) I would buy a hybrid tomorrow (not a fully electric one, because I live in an apt. complex, and there is NO place to plug one in and charge it), but I simply can't afford to replace my car right now. If I could, I would, but I can't, period full stop.

Maybe think about people like me who are STUCK with our "fossil fuel burners," whether we like it or not, before making comments like this one in the future. Just a thought!

11. I think his comment was more bigger picture than an individual call out

It's a collective fault of humanity that we have global warming. Cars are but one aspect. Energy and industry are bigger blames. But they wouldn't exist without human want.

The big problem is that when better ways of doing energy, industry and transportation came along, those who would lose out economically fought like cornered hedgehogs to prevent advancement, or I should say to prevent wide scale implementation of these advancements. The advancements were there.

And we could have fought back. But then the individuals who might lose money decided to appeal to people's bigotries to ensure the people who would prevent progress would be put in power. Instead of talking progress, this group talked about other things. And then words like clean coal were introduced.

We should, at this point all be driving electric cars, because that's all that should be available. And we should be using clean sources to generate energy. The technology is available. But the people who deal in coal and oil have and continue to block progress.
