Sen. Tom Cotton butthurt over Sarah Palin's election loss,

After Sarah Palin's election loss, Sen. Tom Cotton calls ranked-choice voting 'a scam'

WASHINGTON — After Democrat Mary Peltola defeated Sarah Palin in Alaska's special election Wednesday, Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., discredited the voting system used by Alaska voters that they chose to implement in their state.

Cotton tweeted that Alaska's new ranked-choice voting system "is a scam to rig elections," casting doubt on the outcome of the process to fill the seat of late GOP Rep. Don Young.

"60% of Alaska voters voted for a Republican, but thanks to a convoluted process and ballot exhaustion — which disenfranchises voters — a Democrat 'won,'" Cotton said in a separate tweet.

This is the first time Alaskans used the ranked-choice voting system after voting to adopt it in 2020.

“Scam to rig elections”: Tom Cotton fumes over Sarah Palin loss as GOP fans cry “stolen election”

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., fumed over Alaska's new voter-approved voting system after Democrat Mary Peltola defeated former Republican Gov. Sarah Palin in a special U.S. House election decided by ranked-choice voting.

Peltola, a former state representative, became the first Alaska Native elected to Congress on Wednesday after edging out Palin 51.5% to 48.5% in a special election to replace the late Rep. Don Young, R-Alaska. It was the state's first time using a ranked-choice voting system approved by voters in 2020. Under the rules, which are also used in New York City and other areas, voters can rank candidates in order of preference. If no one reaches 50% of the vote, the last-place candidate is eliminated and their votes are reallocated. The process continues until someone reaches a majority of the votes.

Peltola led among first-preference choices with 38% of first-place votes and overtook Palin as votes backing fellow Republican Nick Begich were reallocated. Peltola was aided by a "huge exhaustion rate" among Begich voters, only half of whom ranked Palin as their second choice while more than 20% did not rank anyone at all, election analyst Dave Wasserman noted on Twitter.

"In the end, Palin was so disliked [the election] wasn't even that close," he wrote.

So Cottonmouth do you support ending the electoral college and electing presidents by popular majority? If not STFU.

There's no law that says every election must only be between 1 Dem and one GQP candidate. The PARTY doesn't win, the PERSON wins. Duh.

So how about you shut the fuck up?

Considering that Tom Cotton's entire body is merely a life support system for his butthole, this really has to cause him much suffering.

Alaska opted for ranked-choice voting, which they had every right to do. RCV allows voters to eliminate the least popular candidates, and Palin was one of them. We have it for my city's elections and so far it seems to be working as well as any other method.

Sen. Cotton should check that out and THEN start whining to us about Alaska, whose Republicans, after all, devised their system. He should admit that he was just looking forward to feeding Palin some lines, and hearing her flub them on the House floor. Weren't you, Tom?

Or, maybe he thought that Greene and Boebert weren't enough, because stooges should always come in threes?

The Dems let off easy. Cotton should have been penalized heavily or at least censured for his brazen transgression into foreign policy with his treasonous letter to Iran, undercutting President Obama when he was negotiating with Iran on a nuclear agreement.

Is our boy Tom unhappy because the people of Alaska run their elections they way they want? If so, how would Tom feel about the people of Alaska dictating the conduct of elections in Arkansas?
