They also seem to think Biden is Satan, or at least in league with him, due to his background being red and him delivering such a powerful speech when they were assured he was in the throes of dementia. Overall, I'm not feeling overly intimidated by the MAGA cultist at this moment.

The only ones I saw trying to use the speech to rile up the MAGA Cult we're GOP politicians and talking heads aligned with Trump and his cultist. Oddly, not a one of them said they don't condone violence or Trump's attempts to subvert democracy.

We definitely need to be alert to possible extreme reactions from extremist right wingers. But we have an obligation to hold together our American form of government. It literally says in the Constitution they were securing the blessings of liberty to ourselves and to our posterity. If we can't do that, we're not living up to our jobs as Americans.

So sure, there are reasons to worry. But the fact that there are reasons to worry is the most important reason we need to dig in and defend democracy from the bullies and parasites who are trying to gin up a mob to poach our way of life.
