How dare Joe Biden say all Americans are entitled to be treated with decency, dignity, and respect and deserve justice and a shot at prosperity?
How dare Joe Biden say, “We the people will not let anyone or anything tear us apart.”?
How dare Joe Biden tell Americans to “vote, vote, vote!”?
How dare Joe Biden say we should have reasonable gun laws?
How dare Joe Biden say drug prices should be cheaper?
How dare Joe Biden say we should try to reverse climate change by passing the largest green energy bill in the history of our country?
How dare Joe Biden say America is a beacon to the world?
How dare Joe Biden say we should come together as a nation?
How dare Joe Biden say the United States of America is the greatest nation on earth?
How dare Joe Biden say, “God bless you all.”?

This speech (and everything above was something President Biden said) was not some angry old man screaming hateful venom against a political party or half of the American electorate as MAGA extremists would have you believe. This was a patriotic and necessary response to extremism, political violence, lies, and conspiracy theories, and it’s about time.

We are well beyond Michelle Obama’s advice to go high when they go low. Trump and MAGA extremists have been attacking our democracy, Democrats, rule of law, and Joe Biden with vile and vicious lies for decades. This speech was a mild rebuke of those constant and unhinged attacks, but it was a good start. Biden and the Democratic Party need to start fighting back against the people who have been throwing sucker punches and low blows forever without any repurcussions. If they go low, kicking them in the fucking teeth is the way to deal with bullies. It’s the only thing they respect.

The fuck your feelings crowd needs a safe space after this speech. Give ‘em hell, Joe! Or simply continue to tell the truth and make them think they are in hell.

The mean take no prisoners Joe Biden or the senile decrepit Joe Biden being controlled by - whoever.

They can't seem to settle on what they want it to be this week. I just read a post the other day (not even on an overtly RW site since I never go to those ones) who wanted to have Jill Biden arrested for elder abuse because she was obviously using him as a front for her agenda. These people always swear that he has the same symptoms as their uncle, grandfather, father, whoever in late stages of Alzheimer's or some other dementia. Or because they (who don't give their real names) supposedly worked in a medical facility and recognize the signs and "that's exactly what he looks like." Of course, I have never known someone with dementia who can ride a bicycle, give a forceful, coherent and emotional speech lasting this long. Is he physically slowing down? Yes. He's lived a long life.

Did you watch that scene after the speech where the audience members were crowding around him, interacting with him, hugging him, getting their pictures taken with him? You would never expose someone with senile dementia to that kind of scene. That would scare them and make them lose their composure.

So now we come to the Joe Biden being so "mean and nasty" to his political opponents. Well, when Trump or his RW wannabe's talk like that it's being strong. Has Joe Biden ever called for political violence? Like has he told people to beat up someone heckling him? Has he said he wanted to throw some shorter than him across the river? No.

3. I have heard the elder abuse

from a right-wing nutty co-worker. I am sure Tucker Carlson used it and then his minions repeat it ad nauseum.

The meme they were floating this morning is that he picked the anniversary of Hitler's speech before the Nazis invaded Poland. My co-worker said that was bad optics if not something darker.

I told him you could find something on any date that could be spun into Q-anon conspiracy theories.

I then Googled September 1st in history and found that it is also the day in 1752 that the Liberty Bell was delivered to Philadelphia, a much more appropriate comparison.
