Because she is on my local ABC affiliate right now stumbling, mumbling and giving a clumsy interview/performance that is embarrassing me as a Democrat. The worst part is that she seems pleased and assured with herself. Crap.
Karla Hernandez-Mats - who told Crist this candidate was ready for state government?
Sorry for the negative vibes but this worries me as a Floridian who wants the state back.
We can do better.

(42,206 posts)Do you even know her name? I didn't - had to look it up.
I don't recall Crist's LG from last time. Don't recall Scott's LG.
It's really not that important.

Maybe dont make such a broad judgment based on one interview.

I was pleased when the rumor was it would be Bob Graham's daughter Gwen,
currently assistant secretary of education for legislation and congressional affairs in the Biden administration.

Floridians only learned about their current LG when she put her foot in her mouth recently regarding Cuban immigrants.
Dont sweat it.

I, obviously, will cast my vote for Crist but I'm unsure if I think he has a shot.
It's hard to imagine someone breaking 20 years of Florida tradition of a Republican squeaking by with a few thousand votes to the governorship.

(8,141 posts)I had no thought on who he should have picked as a running mate. Did you?
The interview I saw from my local ABC network (I'm in South Florida) was not bad. She wasn't mumbling, stumbling or clumsy in the interview at all. I imagine Crist's team interviewed her and did some research on her.

(6,232 posts)Putney and Milberg both asked easy questions of her, gave plenty of time to answer yet I still felt she was not ready for media.
I rarely question party candidates, but

(95,237 posts)A 'which side are you on?' marker in the matter of right-wing lunacy run wild in Florida schools. That's what the slot in the slate is for, making a positive statement on an issue. The office is a sinecure.

(6,232 posts)Were IMO clumsy and rambling.
That I could accept if the line of inquiry not fall under the candidates expertise. But they did.
I do not believe this candidate was prepared.
Talking points are baseline. Nuance next. Policy implementation last.
It is not cynical to say of our party candidates We can do better.

If you heard her stumble you are in a position to have them listen to you.
These races are too important to not correct problems immediately
Some of our finest candidates today did not come across well when they first started. Two weeks of solid media practice and role play can make a great difference.
You are raising an urgent issue and responders here who deflect are not doing us or democracy any good.
We need to be problem solvers not excusers.

(6,039 posts)I am making calls in GA re Dem candidates. The voter project here was so incredible during the past two years. I was able to see what a difference it made. It has been so energizing and kept many of us us from falling into despair.
