if you fucknuts really think that Trump can magically wave his hands and declassify anything he wants, I've got some seriously bad news for you: Joe Biden just magically waved his hands and reclassified everything

2. This stupid claim is so dumb that even TFG's attorneys are not using it in court filings or argument

TFG keeps telling the lie that he declassified the top secret information. It is amusing that TFG's attorney are not using this lie in court filings because these attorneys know that this claim is a lie. Even the stupid attorneys who are working for TFG are not stupid enough to use this lie in court.

To briefly recap, nearly two weeks after the FBI’s search, Team Trump rolled out a new talking point: The former president had declassified the materials in question, and in fact had a “standing order” to that effect. They’d never mentioned any of this before, and they couldn’t substantiate the obviously absurd claim with any evidence, but we were supposed to believe it anyway — and it certainly shouldn’t be seen as a desperate, post-hoc rationalization.

It wasn’t long before some former officials from the Trump White House dismissed the talking point as nonsense, and more importantly, the Justice Department noted in its court filing last night that Trump’s lawyers “never asserted that the former president had declassified the documents.”....

Even now, Trump’s own attorneys continue to make relevant legal filings as part of the controversy, and they’re not arguing that he declassified the materials, either.

In other words, the former president isn’t just lying, he’s peddling a lie his lawyers are afraid to echo. Indeed, we’ve seen this dynamic before: After the 2020 election, there was a gap between what Trump would say in public and what his lawyers would say in court. There was no great mystery as to why: Trump knew he could lie to the public with impunity, just as his attorneys knew they had no such luxury when presenting arguments to judges.

4. Well, I'm hoping a pink tutu and magic wand were part of the "declassification"

but yeah, that's one reason even presidents have to go through red tape to get anything declassified, it ensures there won't be classification wars between opposing parties.

6. None of the so-called declassified documents had any indication on them that they were declassified.

So, how would anyone know they were?
There is an official process for declassification, and, if Trump didn't follow it, he can't prove he ever declassified anything.
If it wasn't documented, it didn't happen.

7. There's also the little detail that

none of the statutes cited in the affidavit or the warrant or any other documents in the case require that the stolen documents be classified in order for the theft/removal/shredding for toilet paper to be a crime.

So it wouldn't do him any good even if he had managed to declassify them. The crime would be the same.

The only reason the cklassification status is newsworthy is because of the degree of damage he could do to our national securoty (including the number of people he could get killed with them) increases exponentially with each classification level, and that gets people's attention.

... form of declassifying material.

Doesn't matter, TFG had government docs classified or unclassified that weren't his and he should've gave them back after a subpoena

11. They thought TFG can magically order precincts to stop counting votes

and that he can magically claim victory. Counting all the votes is fraud. Mail in ballots is fraud. TFG has completely legit reasons for keeping classified documents in his basement after leaving office.

These people live in a magical world and anyone who disagrees is fake news. There are millions of idiots who think Trump will be reinstated as president somehow.

Why these documents were "Declassified". They weren't. He couldn't. Ask anyway.

Why would Trump de-classify nuclear weapons secrets and information of overseas agents? How does this do anything but harm our nation's security?

We don't know the exact content (because they actually ARE classified!), but it's safe to say these are not outdated documents on supplies of WW-1 field rations.

Nobody in the media seem to be asking that question. But that does not mean we should not ask "WHY?".

13. Very pertinent question: "Why" would Trump declassify these secrets?

We all know Trump couldn't/didn't declassify top secret information on the way out the door. That's just another of his many lies.

Still, it would be very instructive to simply ask "why?" Trump would even consider declassifying and taking such sensitive state secrets without notifying anyone. Other than doing grave harm to our nation's security, there's no good answer for that.

And as for know why he stole the classified documents? That should be obvious: Trump's a thief and a traitor who thinks he can get away with anything.
