covid update 2 Husband's work - covid positive no a big deal just don't show symptoms-come to work.

First off I want to thank people for well wishes and responding to my post. I do apologize if I haven't response to everyone. Just get tired to respond. but thank you for letting me vent and well wishes and care.

So Hubby is still testing positive and his workplace to him. We don't care you are testing positive as long as you are not showing symptoms, we want you to mask up and get in here. Husband is going in tomorrow because well... we need the money. We are lucky he got it over the Labor Day holiday and really, he only missed 1 day of work- Friday.

It isn't the first I heard of this practice either. My sister-in-law in Nevada indicated workplaces are telling employees that late last year.

This is part of the reason why we still have covid this strong in the country.

on another note. how soon do I have to wait-once covid free to get second booster. I honestly believe my 3 rounds of covid is due to Omicron and the subvariants.

I haven't seen anything official, but that's the "word on the street" I guess.

heard today if you just had Covid recently you should wait 2-3 months to get the new vaccine.
Where my sister works, if someone gets Covid, everyone has to work from home. They all have to test to go back to the office. They also let them choose to work from home a couple days a week if they prefer. I think she goes in a couple days a week right now.

2 or 3 days a week beginning this week. This is what hybrid workers have supposed to be doing since March, but most people have only been coming into the office once a week or once a month. People are just used to working from home and with the price of gas at that time, it did not make financial sense for many to return to the office. But now, apparently the general consensus among top management of the company is that COVID is over.

CDC says asymptotic people just need to quarantine 5 days, then wear a mask for 5 days.
It doesn’t say you have to then test negative, just stay home for 5 days.

It’s 5 days starting 24 hours from your symptoms improving.

This is the exact quote….
If you have no symptoms or your symptoms are resolving after 5 days, you can leave your house.

It used to be that if you tested positive at day 5 (so you know you are still positive), your isolation continued. Most people were unaware of this nuance.

But they apparently changed that on August 11, so it now matches what most people thought it was before - Now positive tests after day 5 just mean continue to mask.

We are getting stupider and stupider about COVID as the elections get closer. I hate it when we mimic the bad behavior of Republicans, rather than focusing on public health.
