In light of the WP story about TFG having 'nuclear' documents (i.e., new info) - can Cannon reverse her decision?

The DOJ would need to start the process of providing additional briefs to her.

(26,727 posts)We already knew that some of what was seized was highly sensitive classified documents and we knew that some of what was seized was personal and should be returned. A story providing some specifics re: the stuff that a special master would presumably leave with the DOJ doesn't change the claim that some of it isn't.
I really don't see the big issue here. The judge's ruling was in many places sloppy and probably wrong... but in general the appointment of a special master shouldn't cause much concern. That concern would be far more appropriate if the person the court appoints is unacceptable in some way and/or if that person excludes too much for "executive privilege" claims and the court allows that to stand.

Theres certainly nothing about learning that some of the documents contained intelligence re: some other countrys nuclear capabilities that makes time more of the essence of the judge has allowed the world intelligence damage assessment to move forward.

(11,292 posts)visa vie the ruling. The judge's reasoning/rationale - is what it is.
And - I also don't think the presence of 'nuclear information' was unknown to her at the time.
