Weren’t they obligated monitor their location and get them back to safe keeping?

There was nobody there with the guts to stop him and apparently it was common practice. God knows how much crap is in the residence when he finally decided to give up and move out. I’m sure there’s plenty of rooms there with classified documents that nobody was allowed to go look at. So then when he moved they treated it as household goods.

Documents he knew our enemies wanted and would pay top dollar for.

The person who brought the documents was just doing his job then.

That he had a vital reason to keep the documents.

No one is going to argue.

Trump refused to give them back and kept them in the residence, but what do they do hold him at gunpoint? I don’t think so

I wonder if people who were tasked with keeping track of things were overwhelmed due to staffing shortages.

What I mean is that I think Intelligence staff and NARA staff were aware that materials were in the possession of (then) POTUS, but attempts to retrieve it fell flat because WH staff were leaving en masse. Intelligence and NARA had no one to work with.

Everybody knows he wasn't muscle fucking boxes out of the WH himself.

And, the selection of what sensitive info to steal needed some expert advice from others. Everybody knows trump has no intellectual curiosity for anything that he can't profit from.

Yeah, he had help, from folks at the highest levels of government.
