I mean, you have to hand it to team justice, they are
committed to winning the PR news cycle. And they have been very good at doing that.
Judge Cannon fiasco lasted 24 hours, and is now effectively gone down the memory hole. From this morning, Trump is back to covered in shit and eating a shit sandwich.
And he's helpless do do anything about it.
Bravo Merrick Garland.
Bravo!

(53,764 posts)on the in and outs of the nuclear capability of an unnamed foreign power, setting off all kinds of speculation as to why he kept it and what he did with it, did he share it with Russia, China, the Saudis, did he sell it. Are there copies he can still sell.
The leak effectively made him look like a spy.
I enjoy tfg twitching and squirming. He would if it was me?

My guess is that the DOJ is sitting on several more bombshells, and every time trump or his legal team does something, DOJ will lay another giant shit on them.

Yeah, she said that!

(407 posts)If not it may set a precedent that will be used later. So I think this is delay tactic to get the Supremes to vote on it.

(2,807 posts)They enjoy a real challenge?
Drumming up support from the long-neglected Nuclear Spy Demographic?
Bragging on their "Thug Life" cred?
Prefer Trump covered in shit compared to Oompa-Loompa orange?
What?
Why would they do that?

(15,568 posts)Are you searching for a logical reason for Trump to leak? Good Luck with that.
Trump has already casually and publicly confessed to possessing the documents, and several other crimes related to the MAL seizure.
Garlands DOJ, on the other hand, has been extremely disciplined and leak-free, to the point that numerous DUers presumed that DOJ was doing absolutely nothing regarding the investigation and prosecution of Trumps crimes.
The single source of the info on nuclear secrets is credited to a person familiar with the search and seized documents. That could absolutely be one of Trumps crazy lawyers, one of his kids, or Trump himself. Some of the recent leaks have contained information (medical records)that isnt even known to the counterintelligence agent in charge of the search, Bratt, because the specifics on the documents have been filtered away from the investigation team.

But they aren't totally leak-free anymore, now are they?

I'm a huge @emptywheel fan. I recommend her right here on DU. She's the gold standard in Federal legal cases.
There's no proof there. You, still, offer no proof. No proof at all.
I say my diving rods trump your opinion piece proof wise.
Although my objectivity might be open to speculation.
