Bannon Faces Up to 15 Years in Prison on New Charges

Bannon Faces Up to 15 Years in Prison on New Charges

Steve Bannon “has been charged with money laundering and conspiracy in connection with the ‘We Build the Wall’ fundraising scheme, for which he received a presidential pardon during Donald Trump’s final days in office,” the Washington Post reports.

“Bannon’s three-count indictment, which was unsealed Thursday morning, includes charges of money laundering in the first and second degrees and conspiracy in the forth degree. On the top count he faces up to 15 years in prison but none of the counts carry a mandatory minimum term of incarceration upon conviction.”

I'm hoping he gets 8-10 years if found guilty but realistically it will probably be 3-5. Tadpole Raisin Sep 2022 #17

He is someone with no convictions (well, a federal conviction for the same set of crimes), a good source of income, and who will no doubt have a lot of character witnesses speak up for him. And this is a white collar victimless crime.

I don't know what the guidelines are, but I doubt he will serve 5 years in jail. If he never serves time in jail I wouldn't be shocked. But my guess is months rather than years.

It's not like he stole a pack of gum or was selling individual cig's on the street. You know, real crimes.

Well, maybe Maidoff didn't have too many character witnesses.

I'm tired of the fascists forgiving each other's fascism and crimes. Time that one of these sentences actually sticks.

I have a bad feeling that in his October sentencing he’ll get 3 months for each count and concurrent. What an injustice.

I’d like to believe that all his mouthing off might up his sentence but Judges are remarkably ‘fair’ except when it comes to African Americans.
