Had I had one of that jerk's arms pinioned, hands cuffed behind his back, I would have been sorely tempted to accidentally step in front of his foot and inadvertently trip him so he fell face first to the floor.

My impression was that he was not at all displeased by this turn of events. I thought I detected a bit of a smirk as he saw a camera and leaned into it.

But I'm sure the other posters have it right. It is part of the procedure to ensure control over the prisoner.
