60 Days Until Midterm Election Day! Upcoming Primaries and Deadlines

September 13 (Tuesday):
Delaware, New Hampshire, Rhode Island primaries
Primary season ends (except Louisiana)

Begin General Election Season

IMPORTANT: it’s crucial that everyone read well ahead on these dates, as there are many “received-by” dates that could be missed if one waits until the last minute. For example, in Louisiana the absentee ballot request deadline is only 3 days before the absentee ballot deadline, so one has to mail something in TWICE in the last week before Election Day. I would advise starting the process at least two weeks before the deadlines. Remember, we’re dealing with DeJoy’s postal system!

September 23:
Minnesota, Wyoming: in-person absentee voting begins
South Dakota: in-person absentee voting begins (dates and times vary by location; call your local elections office)

September 24:
Louisiana, Vermont: in-person absentee voting begins

September 27:
Missouri: in-person absentee voting begins

September 29:
Illinois: early voting available at Election Authority Office
New Hampshire: “Voter registration deadlines vary by locality. Contact your Town Clerk.”
North Dakota: “Early voting dates vary by county. Contact your local elections office.”
Pennsylvania: “In-person absentee voting available. Contact your local elections office for dates and times.”

California: early voting begins

Maine, New Mexico: early voting begins
Montana, Nebraska: in-person absentee voting begins

D.C., Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oregon, West Virginia: voter registration deadline (this includes received-by date for mail-in requests, so best to mail it in well in advance)
Louisiana: voter registration deadline (online only)
Rhode Island: absentee ballot request deadline
D.C.: last day to change party affiliation

October 19:
Massachusetts, Wisconsin: voter registration deadline
(Per Greybnk48: Wisconsin deadlines pertain only to absentee and mail-in voting. You can register on Election Day, just be sure to bring proper I.D.)
Iowa: in-person absentee voting begins

Allow me to post my current favorite GOTV meme here:
