Seven local councilors from St. Petersburg’s Smolninskoye municipality who called on the Russian parliament to prosecute Russian dictator VladimirPutin for treason have been summoned to the police, Russian independent media outlet Mediazona reported on Sept. 9.

The appeal to the State Duma concerned Russia’s failed invasion of Ukraine. [snip]

Smolinsky councilor Dmitriy Palyuga said that he and his colleagues would face charges on allegedly committing “actions aimed at discrediting the government.”

There are a few more details about the contents of the document in the article.

It seems likely that those who signed this are about to become political prisoners.

You don't casually go after that particular king.

They may think they only broke a harsh law, punishable by jail time, but they broke an invisible rule. One which is often fatal in russia.

Hold up a sign on tv to get out of war? 15 years, and you will likely be tortured/raped/injured for years.

Call for the removal/elimination of putin? Good luck with that.

How Russia doesn't empty out is beyond me. Maybe that's Vlad's reason for Ukraine.
