5. The basic confirmation on the eastern front . . .

Is through video and photos from Ukrainian soldiers standing on site with verifying signage. Perhaps more convincing is through Russian channels and TV programming where the normal broadcast bravado has been replaced with shock and bewilderment.

Someone needs to give Tucker Carlson a heads up because everything is pointing to Russian forces collapsing in one place after another.

Illia Ponomarenko, the defense reporter at The Kyiv Independent, is referring to this development as the Kharkiv Miracle.

If reports are accurate, the Ukrainians have pulled off a stunning military achievement through deception, skill and courage.

If reports are accurate, Putin is in deep trouble. His reaction within the next few days should be very interesting, as will the reaction of his inner circle. There's a limit to the number of people you can heave from rooftops and windows and still remain credible. Very dicey!

Too true. Just last night I picked up a clip of Tucker reiterating that 'Russia was not losing this war.' He was adamant, passionate, I'll give him that. He was also dead wrong.

Amazing how the far-right Trumpists love the strong-man acts. Putin is beloved, Victor Orban is embraced and the list goes on.

Still, they call themselves . . . patriots.
