have to pass NSA investigation to get a security clearance? I have never heard of anyone not being able to get one. I can't believe that Trump could have been able to get one on his own.

(8,329 posts)Do not have security clearances. They have access to classified programs by virtue of their election. When they are no longer in office, they no longer have access.

(35,325 posts)could be a Russian spy and himself clear anyone he wants to have access to Top Secret documents. That is f---g
insane. I had to get a clearance to work at the phone company 50 years ago.

get a clearance them self. I doubt Trump could have passed an NSA security check, his SIL couldn't.
We could elect Manafort that worked for Putin president he was a convicted criminal but Trump pardoned him.

And the extent and reach of those powers have never been defined by the Courts.
I think that will soon change.
